Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.
In another bowl, beat the two eggs until well mixed.
Dip each chicken breast first into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, and then coat in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.
Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove from the oven, and spoon marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Optional: garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
