Stir in the brown sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.

Gently fold in the flour, mixing until just combined to avoid over-mixing.
Carefully add the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using), folding them into the batter without overdoing it.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Once done, remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
