This Copyright Policy describes how our content may be used, how we address allegations of infringement, and how you can submit a notice or counter-notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”).

  • Quote up to 100 words from any recipe or article for the purpose of commentary, criticism, or news reporting, provided you:

    1. Attribute FoodishTalk as the source with a do-follow hyperlink to the original URL, and

    2. Do not reproduce full recipes, ingredient lists, or step-by-step photos.

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  1. Repost an entire recipe, post, or photo on your website, social media, newsletter, or other medium.

  2. Translate, adapt, or remix our content and publish it as your own.

  3. Use our photos in social media “round-ups” or collages without explicit permission.

  4. Sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit our content (e.g., in an ebook or course) without a written license.

4. DMCA Takedown Procedure

We respect the intellectual-property rights of others. If you believe content on FoodishTalk infringes your copyright, submit a written notice containing all the following (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.

  2. Identification of the infringing material (URL or screenshot) and enough information to locate it.

  3. Your contact information (name, postal address, phone number, and email).

  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by you, your agent, or the law.

  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

5. Counter-Notice

If we remove or disable access to material you posted in response to a DMCA notice, you may file a counter-notice that must include:

  1. Identification of the removed material and its location before removal.

  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification.

  3. Your name, address, phone, email, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal court in Oregon and accepting service of process from the person who sent the original DMCA notice.

  4. Your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material unless the complainant files an action seeking a court order.

6. Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable law, we terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users deemed to be repeat infringers.

7. User-Submitted Content

When you submit comments, photos, or other content to FoodishTalk, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works from your submission in connection with operating and promoting the Site.

You affirm that any content you submit is your own original work or that you have the necessary rights to license it to us.

8. Third-Party Material

We occasionally feature guest recipes, images, or tips from third parties. We credit all such works to their rightful owners and use them under license, with permission, or pursuant to fair-use principles. If you believe we have failed to give proper credit or exceeded fair use, please contact us immediately.
