Prepare the Taro: In a pot, add the diced taro root and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Cook the Taro: Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the taro is tender and easily pierced with a fork.
Blend: Drain the water and transfer the cooked taro into a blender. Add 1 cup of milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Heat or Chill: If you prefer it hot, pour the mixture back into the pot and heat gently over low heat, stirring occasionally. For a cold version, prepare a glass with ice cubes and pour the blended mixture over the ice.
Garnish: If desired, sprinkle with a little taro powder on top for decorative flair.
