In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the rinsed chickpeas to the skillet.
Sprinkle smoked paprika, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the chickpeas.
Stir well to coat the chickpeas evenly with the spices and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are heated through and slightly crispy.
While the chickpeas are cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until pliable.
To assemble the tacos, place a generous spoonful of the spicy chickpeas in the center of each tortilla.
Top with sliced avocado, shredded red cabbage, and chopped cilantro.
Serve with lime wedges on the side and a drizzle of hot sauce if desired.
