Prepare the Cookie Crust: In a food processor, blend the Oreo cookies until they become fine crumbs. Reserve 1 cup of the crumbs for later use. In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining cookie crumbs with melted butter and stir until evenly coated. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to create the crust.
Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue mixing until well combined. Then, gently fold in the thawed Cool Whip until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Combine the Pudding: In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and the milk for about 2 minutes, or until the pudding thickens. Allow to sit for 5 minutes.
Layer the Cake: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust in the baking dish. Then, layer the chocolate pudding on top of the cream cheese layer and spread it evenly.
Top with Crumbs: Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup of Oreo crumbs generously on top of the pudding layer, creating a 'dirt' appearance.
Chill the Cake: Cover the dirt cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together and the cake to set.
Decorate: Before serving, add gummy worms on top and, if desired, garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color.

- Presentation Tips: Use a clear glass dish to show off the layers of the cake. Serve in individual cups for a fun twist, and place a gummy worm on the rim of each cup for an added fun touch!
