In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained chickpeas, halved cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, finely chopped red onion, diced bell pepper, and sliced Kalamata olives.
Add the crumbled feta cheese, if using, and gently toss to combine all the ingredients.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar (or lemon juice), dried oregano, salt, and pepper to create the dressing.
Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently until everything is evenly coated.
