Method
In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly and frothy.
In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Mix the ingredients until a sticky dough forms, then knead for about 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
While the dough is rising, prepare the sticky topping. In a small saucepan, melt the softened butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup over low heat, stirring until combined and smooth.
Stir in the chopped pecans, then pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Once risen, roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 14x10 inches).
Spread the softened butter over the dough, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly across the surface.
Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place them cut-side up in the baking dish over the sticky topping.
Cover the dish with a towel and allow the rolls to rise for another 30-45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a serving platter. Enjoy warm!
