In a large bowl, combine the warmed milk and sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In the same bowl, add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix well to combine.
Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. You can use your hands or a stand mixer with a dough hook for this process.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).
Spread melted butter evenly over the dough. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, and sprinkle this mixture generously over the buttered dough. If desired, add raisins or nuts for added texture.
Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log and pinch the seam to seal.
Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, arranging them side by side.
Cover with a towel and let rise for another 30 minutes until puffed.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing by whisking together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly before drizzling the icing over the top.
