Method
Start by preparing your ingredients. Ensure the shrimp is peeled and deveined, and the asparagus is trimmed and cut into pieces.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute, making sure not to burn it.
Add the asparagus to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until they start to become tender but are still bright green.
Push the asparagus to one side of the skillet and add the shrimp to the other side. Sprinkle the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
Once the shrimp are cooked, stir everything together in the skillet. Add the lemon juice and lemon zest, mixing well to combine all the flavors.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
