In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter.
Add the garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the chicken pieces to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and allow it to melt.
Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In the skillet, add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
Add the cooked fettuccine and chicken bites to the creamy sauce, tossing to coat everything evenly.
Add lemon zest and mix once more. Garnish with fresh parsley.
