Begin by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, thyme, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted and bubbling, add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant (be careful not to burn the garlic).
Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, stirring well to combine. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet for extra flavor. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 3-5 minutes to reduce slightly.
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, allowing them to soak in the garlic butter sauce. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
Once the chicken is heated through, sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
