In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, and grated ginger to create the marinade. Set aside.
Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a teaspoon of olive oil to the pan.
Once the pan is hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 4-6 minutes until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked halfway through.
Carefully flip the salmon fillets and pour the honey garlic marinade over the top. Allow the sauce to bubble and thicken, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes.
During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle sesame seeds over the salmon.
Once cooked through and the sauce is glossy, remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a moment.
Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
