Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters. Arrange the pieces evenly across the bottom of the greased baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup until fully combined.
Pour the egg mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces, making sure to soak them well. Gently press down on the pieces with a spatula to ensure they absorb the liquid.
If desired, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top for added texture and flavor.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and set in the center.
Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, drizzle the included icing (from the cinnamon roll package) over the top, or sprinkle with powdered sugar for a sweeter finish.
Serve warm, either directly from the dish or plated individually.
Notes
Serve slices warm on a plate, garnished with additional pecans or a drizzle of maple syrup for an appealing breakfast spread!
