Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
Tear the cinnamon-raisin bread into bite-sized pieces and evenly spread them in the greased casserole dish.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until fully incorporated.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread pieces, making sure that all bread pieces get soaked.
If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans and raisins over the top for added texture and flavor.
Allow the mixture to sit for about 10 minutes, letting the bread absorb some of the custard.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar.
