1cupunsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
4cupspowdered sugar
2-4tablespoonsheavy cream or whole milk
1teaspoonvanilla extract (for frosting)
as neededgreen food coloring (for frosting)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13x18-inch baking sheet or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
Add green food coloring until you achieve your desired shade. Mix until the color is evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and smooth it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the buttercream frosting. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
Add 2 tablespoons of heavy cream (or milk), vanilla extract, and additional green food coloring. Beat on high speed until fully fluffy and creamy, adding more cream if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
Once the cake is done and has cooled completely, spread the green buttercream frosting evenly over the top using an offset spatula.
Decorate the cake with edible decorations like sprinkles, mini candy ornaments, and place a star on top for your Christmas tree effect.
Notes
Slice the sheet cake into triangle shapes to resemble Christmas trees. Arrange them on a festive platter and add a sprinkle of powdered sugar for a snowy effect!
