ripe bananas, mashed
0.5
cup
unsalted butter, softened
1
cup
brown sugar
2
large
eggs
1
teaspoon
vanilla extract
1

0.5
teaspoon

1.5
cups
all-purpose flour
1
cup
semi-sweet chocolate chips
0.25
cup
walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the mashed bananas to the mixture and stir until well combined.
Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, blending thoroughly after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and all-purpose flour.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just incorporated—do not overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed in the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, use ripe bananas.
